Interview Recruitment: Participants for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Study

Are you a parent of a child with dystonia? Have you considered DBS for a movement disorder? Have you had DBS for a movement disorder?

The Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting participants for a study to learn about the experiences and perspectives of children with dystonia and their caregivers to learn what you think about pediatric deep brain stimulation (DBS).

Participation would involve a short questionnaire and 60-minute interview for each the caregiver and the child/young adult, separately. We will compensate participants with a $50 Amazon gift card for completing the questionnaire and interview.

We are seeking:

• Parents of children with severe dystonia symptoms.

• Children with dystonia between the ages of 9 and 17.

• Parents of children with dystonia who are considering DBS.

• Children or adults with dystonia who declined DBS as a child or adolescent. Interviews may be done by phone, via videoconference, or in person.
