Opportunities to Volunteer for DMRF Canada

Support Group Leaders & Peer Support

One of the most impactful ways DMRF Canada provides support is through our Support Group Network. These groups serve as a lifeline and provide opportunities for people with dystonia and their families to connect and thrive in the community. We are looking for new Support Group Leaders to volunteer in the following communities:

Victoria BC (Co-leader)

Greater Vancouver Area (Co-leader)

Calgary & Edmonton AB (Casino Chairperson, Co-leaders)

Fredericton NB (New leader)

Saskatoon SK (New Leader)

Hamilton ON (New Leader)

Peer Support for Youth (Canada)

Volunteers can take on different roles or tasks within the group. To read more about the Support Group Leader eligibility, role, and responsibilities please click here. If you are not interested in leading a group, but you would still like to volunteer your time, please let us know.

Volunteer Opportunities in Alberta

The Edmonton Support Group is currently looking for volunteers to fill two important roles:

• Support Group Co-Leader: Help organize and facilitate support group meetings, welcome participants, and work alongside Brenda to create a supportive and welcoming space for members.

• Casino Chairperson: Help coordinate the group’s casino fundraising activities, including organizing volunteers and assisting with the planning and administration needed for the event.

If you are interested in either role, please contact info@dystoniacanada.org

Bingo Volunteer Opportunities - Richmond Hill and Toronto

Through the Charitable Gaming for Good initiative, DMRF Canada proudly participates in bingo fundraising events across Ontario. This vital program provides essential funds to support our mission — including groundbreaking dystonia research projects that aim to uncover improved treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
