Webinar on Dystonia and the COVID-19 Virus - Your Questions Answered
To Members of the Dystonia Community,
These are uncertain and challenging times. The health and safety of dystonia patients is of the utmost importance to us. The unprecedented nature of the coronavirus pandemic, in Canada and around the globe, is changing how we live and conduct business. To assist efforts to flatten the curve and reduce the spread and rate of coronavirus (COVID-19), we are following local, provincial and national recommendations.
These are the precautionary measures in place at DMRF Canada that prioritizes the well-being of the dystonia community:
Virtual Meetings: Where possible, chapters of DMRF Canada will conduct meetings online. Virtual meetings will allow dystonia patients to make connections and maintain friendships without endangering their health and safety.
Social Distancing at Head Office: Our office team will be working remotely from home. If you require assistance or are in need of services, please contact our team through telephone -- (call - (416) 488-6974 / toll Free: (800) 361-8061) -- or email (info@dystoniacanada.org).
Although DMRF Canada’s head office will be working remotely during the pandemic,
providing patient support is still our utmost priority.
We would also like to stress the following guidelines, provided by the medical and scientific community, in helping to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19):
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, for at least 20 seconds
- Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Practice social distancing. Avoid large gatherings, and if you do need to see someone, maintain a 2 meter distance from each other.
- If you show symptoms of fever, cough, difficulty breathing, pneumonia, or any other signs of a respiratory illness, please seek medical attention.
- To protect yourself and others, follow advice given by local, provincial, and national health authorities.
The coronavirus (COVID--19) pandemic is constantly evolving. For the most accurate information and recommendations on how to keep yourself safe, please check your municipal and provincial websites, and Public Health Canada
International organizations provide timely information that we suggest you also check for accurate updates on how to keep yourself well and safe from coronavirus (COVID-19):
