2025 Jackson Mooney Patient Grant Winners Announced

Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) Canada is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Jackson Mooney Patient Grant for Dystonia (JMPG). This annual grant, established by Jackson and Jefferson Mooney, aims to provide financial assistance of up to $5,000 for Canadian residents living with dystonia who are in financial need and committed to enhancing their current situation through furthering their education. 

This year’s recipients, Lauren Allard and Abi Tripp have demonstrated exceptional dedication and resilience in their personal and academic pursuits.


Lauren Allard
We are delighted to announce that Lauren Allard has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Jackson Mooney Dystonia Patient Grant. Lauren is a full-time student in the accelerated nursing program at the University of Manitoba. She says, “I am incredibly grateful to be one of the lucky recipients of the 2025 Jackson Mooney Dystonia Patient Grant… this grant will be exceptionally helpful to help cover schooling expenses.”

Lauren extends her thanks to DMRF Canada for considering her for the award and offers congratulations and best wishes to the other recipient of this year’s grant. We sincerely thank Lauren for sharing her story and wish her continued success as she pursues a career in nursing.


Abi Tripp
We are proud to announce that Abi has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2025 Jackson Mooney Dystonia Patient Grant. As an Interior Design student, Abi is passionate about creating environments that are beautiful, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. She hopes to bring a unique and meaningful perspective to the world of design through her lived experience with dystonia.

We congratulate Abi on this well-deserved recognition and wish her continued success in her studies and future design career.
