Freedom to Move: Run, Walk, and Wheel for Dystonia in June 2025

Every June Canadians from coast-to-coast unite to raise awareness and critical funds for dystonia. To date, Freedom to Move has raised over $1 million to fund research, support programs, and advocacy efforts for people living with dystonia. We invite you to join us in a celebration of strength, community, and determination to make a positive impact for those living with dystonia. You can complete a walk, run, or wheel either virtually in your own community or join us in-person.

Freedom to Move Video Contest: Share Your Dystonia Story

What’s the Contest About?
The Freedom to Move initiative aims to raise awareness about dystonia by sharing real stories from people living with it. We want to highlight how individuals manage and thrive despite the challenges dystonia brings.

How to Enter:

Who Can Participate?
Anyone with dystonia cares for someone with dystonia or wants to support someone they know with dystonia.

What to Submit?
A short video (under 1 minute) answering these questions:

What does dystonia look like without help?

How has your life improved with treatment and support?

Why should people support dystonia awareness and DMRF Canada?

How to Submit?
Post your video on social media and tag DMRF Canada along with 3 friends or family members you wish to challenge!

Why Participate?
Your story can help others understand dystonia, support those living with it, and raise funds for research and programs. It’s especially valuable for those newly diagnosed to hear real experiences from others.
