Government of Canada Extends 2024 Charitable Donation Deadline to February 28, 2025

In response to the recent Canada Post strike, the Government of Canada has extended the charitable donation deadline for the 2024 tax year. This extension ensures donors have ample time to support Canadian charities and claim their contributions for 2024.

For DMRF Canada donors, contributions made by February 28, 2025, are eligible for a 2024 tax receipt. Receipts will reflect the date the donation is received. The Government's announcement confirms this extension applies to both individual and corporate donors, offering additional time to finalize charitable plans and optimize tax benefits.
